As firefighters we are often judged on our physical appearance because it’s the first thing people notice when we step off the fire truck carrying our tools, tanks and hoses. We ourselves tend to focus on mainly our physical fitness and more often than not our mental fitness is put on the back burner. As an ambassador for mental health, I want to see the pendulum swing and start seeing a balance in both mental and physical fitness for everyone!
