Aside from the hustle and grind of selling real estate here in Windsor-Essex, I know all too well the struggles that complicated grief and mental illness can have on a loved one as well as the family.
Having lost my husband to suicide in 2008 and my son’s ongoing battle with mental illness, I understand the critical importance of having a team of supporters to help with navigating life’s challenges. I have also learned the importance of implementing stress-reduction techniques like exercise, talk therapy and meditation into my routine. My new motto is: “Self-care is not an indulgence, it’s a life skill!”
I am humbled and proud to be a Sole Focus Project Ambassador for CMHA Windsor-Essex, and with this privilege I commit to spreading the word throughout our community that THERE IS HOPE after trauma, illness and loss.
You are not alone!
