Real Life explores serious issues that were scarce or non existant in previous generations but are real issues faced by youth today. Suicide, depression, anxiety and addiction are reaching epidemic proportions. Human trafficking is more common than people realize and the number of victims are into the millions. Cyber Bullying has resulted in a severe increase in youth suicide and mental health issues. What constitutes sexual consent has become a real issue for both men and women. Please Join the RYT Senior Players as they try to bring these issues to light and offer ways for people suffering to find the help they need.

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) in collaboration with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) is leading a campaign to bring awareness about mental health promotion and suicide prevention. We have convened a large network of community partners to plan Suicide Prevention Awareness Week from September 10-16, 2017. The Suicide Prevention Awareness Week planning group includes representatives from all sectors including Workplace, Health Services, Community, School Boards, and Post-Secondary Institutions.

Suicide Prevention Awareness Week Kick-Off Walk is being held Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 8:30AM – 12PM. Taking place at St. Clair College, participants will walk from the SportsPlex through the college campus and alongside the Herb Gray Parkway Trail. The distance of the walk will be 5 km in total. Weather permitting, it will be held outside. In the event of inclement weather, the walk will be held on the track inside the SportsPlex. There is no cost associated with registration for the walk, participants who would like to collect pledges will have an opportunity to do so and may also purchase a t-shirt by ($15) donation.
